Olympic Games 2008

Today also marks the start of the Beijing Olympic Games. The official website is http://en.beijing2008.cn/.

There are five official mascots. You can find more information at this website: http://en.beijing2008.cn/spirit/beijing2008/graphic/n214068254.shtml

Singapore is also taking part in the games (http://results.beijing2008.cn/WRM/ENG/BIO/NOC/SIN.shtml).

Go, Team Singapore!

Happy Birthday, Singapore!

Today, we celebrated the Nation's 43rd birthday (the actual day is on the 9th of August. So, we celebrated one day earlier).

The celebration began with the trooping-in and raising of the flags.

We then sang the national anthem and took our pledge. Next, we proceeded to the hall where various programmes (such as the National Day message read by our Principal, singing, drama performance and more) were awaiting us.

We also celebrated the birthdays of children and teachers whose birthdays are in August.

After that, we headed back to our classroom to learn more about the meaning of the Singapore flag. To round off the celebration, each one of us received a drink and a small cake, together with a gift from the school. It was a memorable day.
